Ohio and Kentucky Traffic Laws Protect Cyclists
Both Ohio and Kentucky have clear laws in place to protect cyclists and hold negligent drivers accountable. In Ohio, bicycles are considered vehicles under state law, which means cyclists have the same rights and responsibilities as motorists. Drivers must give cyclists at least three feet of clearance when passing, and they're required to yield the right-of-way in situations where they would yield to another vehicle.
Kentucky law similarly treats bicycles as vehicles with full road rights. Drivers must maintain a safe distance when passing, and cyclists are legally entitled to use the full lane when necessary for safety.
